This position is also an ideal role for the career minded individual. The last two people in this seat have been promoted to manager positions. It's not always an inline promotion, as the last guy went to the internal audit team, but there's a lot of opportunity. About this Position: Client is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst - External Reporting. As a member of the External Reporting team within the Finance Department, this position assists with the following processes:

Ensuring our compliance with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting rules through the accurate and timely filing of required documents.
Providing clear and transparent communication of our business results to shareholders, lenders, and potential investors.
Ensuring our compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX 404) by maintaining effective internal controls over our financial reporting.

Position Outcomes & Activities:

SEC Filings and Press Releases: Prepare and file accurate various SEC Forms (i.e. 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, 11-K, Proxy and Form 4) and press releases by established deadlines. Expectations include:
Coordinating the various layers of review with internal and external parties.
Maintaining effective internal controls by complying with written policies and procedures.
Assisting with researching, interpreting and implementing the appropriate disclosures for changes in business activities and authoritative guidance (GAAP and SEC Reporting Rules).
Implementing disclosure modifications and enhancements as directed.
Design and Documentation of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting: Ensure that the design of our internal control structure is effective; coordinate and execute the process for maintaining up-to-date documentation of our internal control structure. Expectations include:
Assisting process owners with the design and documentation of internal controls.
Assisting with researching and interpreting new control standards as issued by the SEC, PCAOB or other regulatory bodies; ensuring that our internal control structure is modified as appropriate.
Testing the Effectiveness of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting: Develop and execute a risked-based testing plan designed to ensure internal controls are operating effectively. Expectations include:
Planning, coordinating and performing internal control testing.
Coordinating and evaluating internal control self-assessments.
Assisting process owners with the remediation of internal control deficiencies.
Audit Support: Prepare accurate supporting documentation for Internal Audit and external auditors; coordinate the external auditors' evaluation of our internal controls.


Position Requirements:
Required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
3 years of auditing experience
Experience designing and evaluating internal controls in either an audit role within a CPA firm or a corporate internal audit/SOX 404 role
Experience preparing or auditing financial statements and disclosures
Experience researching accounting and reporting issues, including interpreting U.S. GAAP and SEC Reporting Rules

Preferred:

Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
Certified Public Accountant or equivalent (i.e. Chartered Accountant)
Experience evaluating compliance with SOX 404
Experience auditing information technology controls
Auditing experience from a large national or regional CPA firm
SEC Reporting experience in either an audit role within a CPA firm or a corporate external reporting role
Experience in the Financial Services industryEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
