We are currently seeking a Credit Card Services Manager to join us. The person in this position will report to the Vice President of Lending.
JOB
Summary:
Directs and coordinates activities of the processing vendor and Michigan First team members engaged in the credit union's credit card program to ensure that the program is innovative, profitable, in accordance with all regulations and guidelines and grows.
KEY JOB
Responsibilities:
Responsible for product and reward program development, card portfolio growth, and overall portfolio profitability in accordance to our annual budget
Drives the development and rollout of product education by leveraging our Retail, Business Development and Marketing team(s). Works closely with the Marketing team, and others to assist in implementation of campaigns and promotions
Communicates with members as needed to resolve concerns, answer questions and measure satisfaction. Maintains positive member relations
Manages monthly productivity, income and expenses of card portfolio
Works with VP of Lending and other leaders to drive and direct the completion of annual plan and objectives
Evaluates and applies new technology to improve efficiency, lower costs and provide superior member service: Implements quality improvements and practices as needed
Researches and understands regulatory trends in the industry to analyze impact on credit union's card portfolio
Understands and manages risk based pricing component to balance risk and return of the portfolio
Establishes and maintains productive relationships with industry partners, service providers and vendors
Manages the credit union's Card Services team members to coordinate and measure daily activities (see leadership responsibilities listed below)
Works with Risk team to minimize fraudulent card activity including claims with our processing vendor. Compiles and analyzes statistical data on fraudulent use of credit cards to develop procedures designed to deter or prevent use of cards
Reviews collection reports to ascertain status of collections and balances on outstanding credit card usage and also evaluates effectiveness of current underwriting policies and practices
Works with VP of Lending to develop, revise and implement operational policies and procedures for Card Services team
Implements an internal audit program on credit cards to ensure that all policy and legal requirements have been satisfied, exceptions noted and corrected, and maximum efforts have been taken to ensure full compliance on each and every loan account
Becomes/is an advocate of the Michigan First culture, supporting diversity, philosophy and other credit union initiatives. Fosters a positive image of Michigan First via professional representation in all contacts and complies with all of Michigan First's mission and vision goals. Reflects each of the credit union's Isms in daily job performance. Learns and utilizes the EMEC way (Every Member's Experience Counts) in day-to-day responsibilities when communicating with members and team members.

Responsibilities:
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this area. Demonstrates a commitment to our Leader Code of Conduct
Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training team members, planning, assigning, and guiding workloads; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree plus at least five years' proven experience in lending and managing a credit card portfolio for a bank, credit union, savings and loan or finance company.
Maintains safe and sound lending practices that result in acceptable credit card volume, while at the same time ensuring that underwriting rules and practices are not negatively impacting the credit union as compared to established goals
Ability to read and interpret documents such as board lending policies, regulation respecting lending (i.e., Regulation Z, The Fair Credit Reporting Act, etc.) and the ability to write policy statements, procedural and operating manuals, and speak effectively before groups of team members or members of the credit union
Ability to communicate effectively with groups and individuals external to the credit union that the lending team may need to contact for information respecting lending
Must have the ability to utilize on-screen loan processing provided by the credit union's
mainframe system, or by a stand-alone Personal Computer system that accomplishes the same or a similar result
Must have the ability to operate standard office machines such as a photocopier, fax machine, personal computer and such equipment normally found in a modern credit union
Must be able to use the credit union's computer systems. Such usage includes, but is not limited to, retrieval of information, printing out individual statements of account, inputting data, updating information, special access to certain fields, and general maintenance of the credit and collection financial and ancillary records

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
