Manager, BI Data Stewardship

OVERVIEWThe Manager, BI Data Stewardship establishes and maintains engagement with our Business Data Stewards, and is responsible for maintaining and promoting data policies to ensure data quality and data literacy across our data systems and organization.
This role interacts with various levels within the organization, and will also work with the Business Intelligence (BI) team to create prototype reports and analysis for business stakeholders.
This position works closely with the Business Data Stewards, Data Analysts, Data Architect, and various project teams and business leadership in achieving successful utilization of our BI tools.
JOB DUTIES Manages and develops BI Data Stewards, including conducting regular meetings to promote data literacy and to ensure successful use of Suns BI Tools.
Maintains the Data Strategy document containing BI & data governance policies in coordination with VP, Business Intelligence.
Leads in-depth analysis of reporting requests and data analysis needs for entire company, and provides input into the BI Roadmap to reflect needs of the business.
Creates, maintains, and guides other BI members on BI Business Requirements documentation, Data Dictionaries and Business Glossaries as needed.
Translates business requirements into usable BI/data solutions.
Coordinates team member selection and development and ensures team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures.
Supports evaluation of current Business Intelligence capabilities as appropriate and recommends right tools for the company.
Identifies and implements user-focused tools to enable self-service functionality for ongoing data needs.
Interprets data using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining.
Leads BI projects as needed and serves as the subject matter expert for business intelligence reporting.
Creates working reporting prototypes.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (Required) 2 years experience in BI Agile Project Management and Business Analysis.
5 years experience in a formal BI team as BI Analyst, Data Analyst, or Manager using Domo, Power BI, Tableau 1 year experience with Domo 2 years experience in manufactured housing or real estate industry 2 years experience managing BI resources 2 years experience in Data Governance Excellent communication skills Knowledge of Netsuite Passionate about working with Business Data Stewards in promoting data literacy across the organization Experience preparing Business Requirements documents, Data Dictionaries and Business Glossaries Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Excel Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Visio and PowerPoint Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills Ability to work well with others inside as well as outside the organization Exceptional organizational skillsBENEFITSAt Sun Communities, you will be part of an industry-leading organization where you will be challenged, inspired, rewarded and transformed.
