Summary:
Provide the leadership to guide the manufacturing team in the development, maintenance, and improvement of all quality systems, to include: Process improvement, Proactive problem solving, Final Inspection, In-Process Controls, Supplier Quality Assurance, Systems Auditing, Product Testing and Finished Goods Audit. Measure and report performance related quality. Ensure conformity to engineering and quality standards. Develop a pipeline of talent to meet the future needs of the business.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Lead the site in the implementation of the Lean QMS.
Provide leadership and communication to all team members to ensure understanding and attainment of Company, site, and unit performance objectives.
Utilize, drive, and promote understanding of Lean tools and principles to ensure the delivery of business objectives and a culture of continuous improvement.
Participation in the establishment and implementation of quality specifications, testing procedures and standards for raw materials and finished products.
Develops and recommends inspection and sampling techniques and quality control plans. Develops process control procedures ensuring production of finished products meet quality specifications and standards.
Conducts research on product defects and recommends modifications to products or quality standards where warranted. Assures data is formulated into useable information and communicated to the management staff.
Assists vendors in establishing inspection standards to meet the companys quality requirements and confers on specific quality problems.
Provides technical assistance to the purchasing department with regard to the purchase of raw materials, supplies and equipment.
Reviews complaints or warranty claims received to determine where quality control emphasis should be placed at the plant to eliminate problems.
Ensures compliance with governmental regulations.
Establishes and manages departmental budget and assists in the development of long range goals and objectives.
Lead safety awareness, accident prevention and ergonomic improvement efforts and programs.
Develop a world-class operations team by challenging the status quo, coaching and counseling, and focusing development to drive business results.
Build and maintain a strong leadership team and positive work environment based on Companys culture and values.
Get involvement and buy-in to accelerate change and motivate others around vision and goals.
Partner effectively with team members at other Corporate locations.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field
5-7 years of manufacturing management/quality control experience in a lean environment
Previous shop floor and/or technical leadership/supervisory experience
Strong project management and problem solving skills required
Excellent leadership, influence, organizational skills and communication skills
High integrity
Willing to relocateEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
