JAWOOD is seeking an Accountant.
Responsible for recording accounting transactions in the general ledger and preparing financial statements, reports, reconciliations, presentations and analysis. Prepare journal entries, monthly/annual corporate financial statements (internal and client formats), related financial schedules, reports, presentations, analysis, and general ledger account reconciliations. Maintain PeopleSoft financial statement reports as assigned. Special Projects and other duties and analysis as assigned. Prepare assigned government required financial filings (e.g., IRS Form 990, escheat, etc.) and fulfill various external requests for information. Communicates via phone, email and letter to Group accounts regarding account delinquency and collection of past due amounts.
Qualifications - External
Bachelor''s Degree in Business or related discipline required. Major in Accounting or Finance preferred.
Two (2) years accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable or finance experience required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and timelines required.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment required.
Excellent analytical skills required.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access required.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles required.
One (1) year experience in commercial collections preferred.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint preferred.
Basic knowledge of current version(s) of PeopleSoft financial modules preferred.
